MUMBAI: A superwoman efficiently manages multiple roles of a homemaker, career, social work, etc. Franklin Templeton Investments and Money Works Financial Advisors recognized and felicitated seven such women in Mumbai at a recently concluded event.

Samina KhorakiwalaMrs. Samina Khorakiwala, CEO of Khel Khel Mein was honoured with the Superwoman 2016 title in the presence of 50 business women, advocates, solicitors, interior designers, jewelers, builders and media.

Samina spearheads Khel Khel Mein, an initiative of Wockhardt Foundation, which spreads sound human values and good habits among kids through fun and play. She is a highly cultured lady of substance rather than of mere style.
Her vision in terms of making children inculcated with human values is taking flight with remarkable level of participation by the underprivileged community.

Since its founding in 2010, the KKM program has changed the lives of almost 10,000 children and reaches out to almost 2,000 children every year.

Accepting the award, she said, “This award is special simply because it recognizes ‘woman power’. I accept this award on behalf of the millions of superwomen in India. Their contribution to the society, their work and families is outstanding.”

Being a mother of two, Samina is a strong champion of experiential learning, as distinct from rote learning that is dished out in conventional schools. In fact, what KKM offers is “edu-recreation” with a difference. She ably supports her husband Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala’ philanthropic endeavor in her own inimitable style.

Wockhardt Foundation is a national, not-for-profit organization engaged in social service and human welfare activities. Its 9 programmes have made perceptible change in its areas of operations to the lives of the underprivileged.
Mobile 1000, its flagship programme, aims at operating 1000 Mobile Health Vans in rural India and administering free primary healthcare to 25 million Indians every year. As of date, there are 77 Mobile 1000 Vans operating in 18 states and doing yeoman service to rural India.

Its other programmes like Little Hearts, Pronto Toilet, Pronto Bio-Toilet, E-Learning, Khel Khel Mein, Wockhardt Skills Development Institute, SHUDHU water purification tablets and Adarsh Gram Yojana have made significant impact and it continues to expand its social coverage in areas where the need is the most.

Says it’s Trustee & CEO, Dr. HUZ (Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala) -“Wockhardt Foundation operates its social programmes based on the 3 B’s – Big, Best and Bold. The Big ensures scale, the Best ensures quality and the Bold ensures need.”

Wockhardt Foundation is governed by a simple philosophy -“where every smile counts”.
