WEST BOKARO: A mega health camp and a plantation drive was organised today at Bhelgarha village under Mandu block of Ramgarh district by the West Bokaro Division of Tata Steel as part of the 8th edition of Tata Volunteering week.
The health camp and the plantation drive was inaugurated by S K Pati, Chief Environment, Tata Steel in the presence of Shibojyoti Dutta, Head Environment & Climate Change, Tata Steel, Gopal Nath Jha, Head R & R, West Bokaro, Tata Steel, Colonal Bhawani Singh Nirwan, Head Administration, West Bokaro, Tata Steel and Seema Devi, Mukhiya, Barughuttu Central.
Total 208 patients were benefitted by the health camp. 2 doctors from Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS) and Tata Central Hospital offered their services in the camp.
As part of Tata Volunteering Week, more than 200 fruit bearing saplings were distributed to the people of Bhelgarha.
Addressing the community, Pati said, “Tata Steel has always given priority to environment and plantation drive across our operational locations reflects our commitment towards Mother Nature. The distribution of these 200 saplings is an initiative to bring the community together with Tata Steel for a greener and better tomorrow”.
Keshav Ranjan, Unit Head, TSRDS, Dr Jayant Tripathy, Senior Registrar, Corporate Social Responsibility, Dr P K Singh, Senior Registrar, Tata Central Hospital, West Bokaro along with other officials of Tata Steel were present on the occasion.
