JODA: Tata Steel’s Ore Mines & Quarries (OMQ) Division has initiated preventive measures to combat dengue at Joda. The dengue prevention campaign was flagged off on July 10, 2017 from Tata Steel’s Joda hospital by Parthasarathi Mishra, Chief HRM, OMQ Division, Tata Steel.
Others present on the occasion include Abhay Kujur, Head HRM, Joda, Tata Steel, NNB Rao, Senior Manager Administration, Joda, Tata Steel, A K Roy, Chief Medical Officer, Tata Steel Hospital, Joda, Tata Steel and Tanmay Kar, Unit Head TSRDS, Joda, Tata Steel.
As part of the plan to combat dengue, Tata Steel will spearhead the campaign in Joda municipality, all schools in Joda area and nearby villages. The awareness campaign will run for the next two months, which will focus on creating awareness on prevention of Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya.
The campaign will use various communication mediums like hoardings, banners, leaflets and posters to create awareness on dengue. Nukkad natak, propaganda through audio, fogging and most importantly, source reduction are part of this awareness drive. After identifying possible breeding sites, larvicidal spray will also be carried out to eliminate the formation of mosquito larva.
