Sr. Scientist- AMPRI Dr.S.Murali to Address the Fly Ash Conference in Raipur on 17 Feb

RAIPUR: INDIACSR is organizing a mega Conference on Fly Ash Management “Wealth from Waste” in Raipur at Hotel GT Star on 17 Feb 2013 . The theme of the conference is “Fly Ash: Wealth from Waste” www.flyash.indiaflyash.com.  It is one of the mega fly ash management symposium in the country. Conference should address all pertinent issues in fly ash including regulation, disposal challenges and practical methods of fly ash management.

Dr S MurliDr. S. MURALI is a senior scientist at Advanced Materials & Processes Research Institute (AMPRI), Bhopal a constituent R & D institution under CSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. He has pursued his B. Tech. (Agricultural Engg.) from Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, Hyderabad (A.P.), M. Tech. (Energy Engg.) with distinction and Ph.D. (Env. Engg.) from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal.

Dr. Murali has served for a decade in ICAR at National Research Centre for Citrus and National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning (NBSS & LUP), Nagpur. He has extensively worked on the aspects of natural resource inventory, land use planning, soil & water conservation, watershed management, wastelands reclamation and micro-irrigation systems.

Presently Dr. Murali is actively engaged in the R & D on wastelands reclamation, agriculture, materials development and rural / agro-technologies. Dr. Murali is well known for his innovative R & D activity on bulk utilization of Fly ash for wastelands reclamation and agriculture with his 15 years of experience.

He published 35 research papers in various journals / proceedings, presented 24 papers at International & National Seminars, written three Book Chapters and edited one Seminar Proceedings. He has also delivered 20 invited technical lectures at various forums.

Dr. Murali has organized 22 Trainings Programs for the NGOs, farmers, entrepreneurs etc on the aspects of his expertise and experience in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh.

He has executed seven consultancy R & D projects worth Rs 131.00 lakhs and also associated with five mega Projects.

He was a NTSE Scholarship (1980) holder from matriculation onwards. Dr. Murali received the National Award for Fly Ash Utilization for the R & D on ?Use of Fly ash for Building Materials and Agriculture? jointly from MoP, MoEF & DST, Govt. of India (2005), Best Technical Paper Award at 3rd International Conference – ” Rural India” , Hyderabad (2005), Best Poster Presentation Award at National Seminar on ” Land Resource Management and Livelihood Security “, Nagpur (2008) and Certificate of Merit in Leadership Development Programme, by HRDC, CSIR, Ghaziabad (2010). He has also received various honours from AMPRI (CSIR) such as the Best Project of Societal / Rural Impact Award (2002), Highest Consultancy Award (2004) and Best Rural Technology Project Award (2006).

He is an active Life Member of the professional societies like Institution of Engineers (India) and Materials Research Society of India.
