Sesa Sterlite signed MOU with District Water Sanitation Mission, Kalahandi for the Construction of 4000 toilets in Lanjigarh
LANJIGARH (Odisha): Sesa Sterlite under its CSR activity has taken a new initiative in “Project Swachhata” towards construction of individual House hold Toilets in Lanjigarh Block. In Signing of MOU Ceremony K.K Dave, COO-Sesa Sterlite signed MOU with Er. Pradipta Mohapatra-Executive Engineer (DWSM & RWSS) Kalahandi in the presence of Drubadal Meher-Additional District Magistrate Kalahandi.The villages in and around the Plant periphery don not have household toilet, which is the major sanitation threat, leading to health problems.
On this occasion K.K. Dave, COO – Sesa Staerlite Says”SSL has signed MOU with DWSM, Kalahandi towards bringing the improvement in the general quality of life in the rural areas with respect to hygiene & sanitation issue by constructing Individual Households Latrine and to make the area Open Defecation Free (ODF).Accelerate sanitation coverage in rural areas to achieve the vision of “Swachh Bharat Mission”.
Er. Mohaptra- Executive Engineer DWSM thanks Sesa sterlite to come forwards and Join hands for construction of IHLs for APL families which can fill the gap and this will help towards eradication health issues in the area.
The Project Swachhta will cover 40 villages of 4 Gram Panchayats – Lanjigarh, Chhatrapur, Baterlima and Champadiepur in Lanjigarh Block where around 4000 households will be benefited.Individual Household Latrine will be given preference to No toilet family first and then construction of damaged and defunct condition and the households (NO BPL) having no toilets.
During the occasion Ranjan Sharma (Head CSR, SSL), Tapan Behra (Dist. Project Coordinator, DWSM), Alka Minj, Binod Kr Rath from SSL were also present.
