Rotary District 3190 Celebrate the first Annual Karnataka CSR Conference 2018

To recognize corporate contribution towards community service in the state

BANGALORE: Rotary District 3190 is celebrating its first Annual Karnataka Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) conference on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangalore.

The aim of the conference is to celebrate the contribution made corporate stakeholders towards community service in Karnataka across varied areas to drive the socio-economic development of the state.

 The conference, which will be attended by CSR stakeholders from across industries, who will discuss overarching topics such as:

  • Are we giving back more than what we take from society?
  • Are we moving towards Strategic CSR and sustainability in our activities to create economic output and wealth?
  • Would we be leaving the world a better place for the next generation?
  • Are we aligning ourselves to Sustainable Development Goal 2030 (SDG 2030) and making a significant contribution towards improving Human Development Index (HDI)?

Commenting on the event, Rtn. Asha Prasanna Kumar, District Governor says, “The Rotary movement, by its very nature of individual pro-bono work, is truly focused on giving altruistically. It is perhaps the only movement where skilled professional volunteer their time and expertise to drive meaningful societal change. Which is why there is true synergy in bringing together the Rotary organization and the corporate denizens of Karnataka to have this dialogue on how we can better the CSR efforts in the state.”

Rtn. Asha Prasanna Kumar, adds, “At Rotary International District 3190 we have always had community service at the core of our DNA. The objective of the event is to create a platform that encourages dialogue and action around the partnerships and initiatives needed to drive the socio-economic change needed to forge Karnataka ahead on the HDI and towards the SDG 2030 goals.”

“Corporate denizens of Karnataka have over the decades contributed significantly to social causes in the state. Through this event the Rotary District 3190 wants to recognize all the corporate citizens who are driving the CSR efforts in order to realize true change and create a better world for coming generations,” says Rtn. Jothish R, President of the host club, Rotary Bangalore Jeevanbimanagar.

Paul A. Netzel Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair, and Ex-Mayor of Culver City, California would be the Chief Guest. The event will have speakers who are leading the CSR mandates in companies from across industries.
