MSTC a PSU Under Steel Ministry Contributes Rs 2.55 Crore for Uttarakhand Relief

NEW DELHI: MSTC, a PSU under the Ministry of Steel handed over a cheque of Rs. 2.55 Crore to the Minister of Steel, Shri Beni Prasad Verma towards Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, for the relief of those affected by cloud burst and extensive floods in Uttarakhand here today. The amount comprises Rs. 2.5 crore from MSTC’s own funds and Rs. 5 Lakh contributed by MSTC employees as their one day salary for this noble cause.

The Minister of Steel expressed his condolence over the loss of life and assured the people of Uttarakhand continuing support and assistance in their difficult times.

Steel in IndiaThe contributions made today are in addition to other CSR and sustainability activities to be undertaken by the Central Public Sector Enterprises under the Ministry of Steel in the calamity affected areas.

The cheque was handed over by the CMD of MSTC Shri S.K. Tripathi in the presence of the Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Shri D.R.S. Chaudhary, SS&FA, Shri Vinod Kumar Thakral, Joint Secretaries of the Ministry and other senior officials of the ministry.
