Conference on Disability Equality and Accessibility in India

The purpose of this conference is to:

Bring together national and international resources to provide an environment for innovation and creativity, with the aim of identifying solutions to initiate change in attitudes and practice that lead to enhanced life opportunities for disabled people in India and globally.

Analyse the impact and opportunities under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), other human rights legislation, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and India’s New Companies Bill, to promote the rights of disabled people in India.

Speakers Include:

Lt Gen Jaswant Singh Ahluwalia, President of the Institute of Directors (IOD) India

Mr Stephen Frost, Former Head of Diversity and Inclusion at the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) 2012 (TBC)

Mr Siddharth Jayakumar Manager- Trade Operations, IndusInd Bank Ltd

Ms Madhavi Latha Prathi- Paralympic Swimmer and Gold Medalist in the 1st State Level Paralympic Swimming Championship – India 2013

Further, In line with this year’s conference we are also delivering a Disability Sports Workshop in India.
