BANGALORE: In a bid to bring some colour to the lives of little children from Florida English Medium School, located in Padarayanapura, Bangalore, IvyPlus Network, in partnership with Mantra4Change has come together to raise funds to paint the walls of the school. Started in 1999, the school serves students from low income backgrounds in its neighbourhood and is looking for help with painting for its upkeep.
In lieu of improving the plight of the school, Impact Guru a Harvard Innovation Lab incubated fintech company has recently started a campaign #HelpUsPaintSmiles. The campaign hopes to raise Rs. 68,000 of which Rs 59,500 has already been raised.
The fundraiser has been initiated by IvyPlus Network, an alumni network of Indians from the top global universities including Harvard, Stanford, MIT & Oxbridge amongst others in partnership with Mantra4Change is working in the field of School Transformation.
Mantra4Change partners with schools serving under-privileged students for a two year period in order to achieve capacity building of school staffs and learning outcomes of students. Currently, they are working with 10 schools in Bangalore with a goal to replicate it across 100 schools over next 5 years.
The plan is to get together on the morning of June 19th at the school and start the painting. The ticket contribution of Rs 1200 on the crowdfunding platform Impact Guru would help them buy paint and employ professional painters who would be helping with the base coat. IvyPlus members will be painting designs and educational symbols over the base coat.
