Coal India Organizes Seminar on CSR

KOLKATA: Coal India Limited under the aegis of Department of Public Enterprises organized a one-day seminar on 25 June, 2013, in Kolkata on the ‘New CSR and Sustainability Guidelines’ issued by Department of Public Enterprises. The seminar was also aimed at sensitizing senior executive of CPSEs on CSR issues.

Speaking on the occasion Mr S Narsing Rao chairman of CIL emphasized on Socio Economic Development and improving livelihood of the economically underprivileged through increased activities. He further, stated that CIL is prepared to jointly work with other PSUs in this regard.

Mr OP Rawat secretary of DPE has stressed on New guidelines and suggested a proactive approach in CSR activities. The Seminar has provided a good opportunity to discuss the scope and application of the provisions of the new guidelines.
