NEW DELHI: With a strong emphasis on service and giving back to society, Amway Opportunity Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Amway India undertook a ‘Free Eye and health Checkup Camp’ at Laxmi Nagar in association with Mahavir International. About 400 families were benefitted as eminent doctorsfrom Kalra Hospital examined them. In recognition of the good work a cheque of Rs.2.24 Lakhs was handed over by Mr. Yoginder Singh, Treasurer, Amway Opportunity Foundation to Mr. Anil Kumar Jain, Vice Chairman, MahavirInternational.
Dr. Ashok Walia, Health Minister, Delhi Government, inaugurated the event. The event saw presence of two eye doctors, one heart specialist and one general physician.All present at the event were provided free medicines and patients detected with Cataract were offered free cataract operations at Mahavir International hospital.
Mr. Anil Jain, Vice Chairman, Mahavir International added, “We are very honored to be a part of this noble cause, as through this effort we serve the people of the society who need care, tender and affection. Amway Opportunity Foundation has been reaching out to the people and would continue to extend its support to the society at large.”
Commenting on the occasion Mr. Yoginder Singh,Treasurer, Amway Opportunity Foundationsaid “Amway India Enterprises through its social responsibility arm –Amway Opportunity Foundation as always made sincere efforts to help people with limited access to quality healthcare, and one such initiative is this free eye checkup and health camp. It is our humble attempt to give back to society in whatever way we possibly could in the hope to benefit the lives of people we touch upon.”
Amway Opportunity Foundation and Mahavir International have been associated together since 2007.AOF has sponsored over 80 camps in Delhi & NCR so far.This is the first mega health camp of this year, followed by 5 other mega health camps to be conductedin Delhi and NCR.
